Moni, anzanga! Hello, friends! The primary purpose of this blog is to keep in touch with my friends and family while I’m serving with the Peace Corps in Malawi. However, it is my hope that this little site will also reach others who might be interested in the Peace Corps, volunteering overseas, or learning about different cultures. As I write this post, a few months before my departure, I am by no means an expert when it comes to any of those topics, and I don’t expect to become one. I do expect to constantly learn and grow through this journey, and I will do my best to share my experiences with you!
I will be serving in the Education sector of the Peace Corps in a little country in East Africa called Malawi, which is fondly referred to as “The Warm Heart of Africa.” I can’t wait to collaborate with the teachers and leaders who are already there, and I’m so excited to meet my fellow Peace Corps Volunteers!
In the coming months, I will be updating this blog here and there as I prepare to leave, but you can expect most of my posting to begin after my arrival in Africa. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to submit them in the comments section down below or through the Get in Touch! page. My FAQ page is currently a work in progress, but check back there later for more info! Also, feel free to click the “Follow My Adventures” button at the bottom of the page to subscribe to email notifications so you never miss a post!
Until later, tsalani bwino! Stay well! ➳
